What is Community on CESCR?
Community on CESCR is an open platform that connects individuals, grassroots groups, and advocates working on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in Kenya. It provides a space to share experiences, collect evidence, and strengthen community voices in international human rights processes.
Our mission is to make participation more inclusive by ensuring that lived realities inform reports and recommendations to the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. We welcome contributions from all communities, especially those whose voices are often left out.
The platform also serves as a hub for learning, where users can access resources, updates on CESCR reviews, and tools to better understand how international human rights mechanisms affect everyday life. By building shared knowledge, we aim to empower communities to advocate more effectively for their rights.
Beyond reporting, Community on CESCR is about solidarity. It fosters collaboration among organizations and individuals, creating opportunities for joint advocacy and stronger impact at both local and global levels. Together, we can transform evidence into action and action into lasting change.
